Cluttered Closet Turned Cute Little Mudroom
I absolutely love DIY projects! I have no problem putting in the effort to turn a vision into reality.
I’d like to share one of my most recent (and favorite) DIY projects with all of you.
We live in a ranch home. The entryway was nothing fabulous. You walk through the front door and there’s a closet to your right. It’s one of those closets where the doors slide open and shut on a track. (I HATED those doors! They were always coming off the track!) It was a mess, overflowing with shoes and coats. It’s where we stored all our board games and bins full of movies. I’d prefer to call it organized chaos. Although, the shoe situation was a bit out of control-you had to dig through a huge pile of shoes to find a matching pair! (It was pretty frustrating on those crazy, hectic mornings). All in all, the closet was a bit of an eye sore! So, with a little inspiration from Pinterest (where else?) I turned my cluttered closet into a cute little mudroom!
Here is the BEFORE photo. Wish I had taken a pic with all the clutter in it.
Just about all the items I used were already in my home (except the paint and hooks). My husband did spruce up the shelf a bit-gave it some life! 🙂
The baskets on the shelf each hold specific items: one for hats, one for gloves, and one for scarves. The basket sitting on the floor (hard to see in the picture) holds our umbrellas.
I love the way this turned out! It’s a great little space now. It’s the first thing people see when they walk into our home and we always get compliments on it.
